Shiny Mud Balls | Science and Education | Trends in Japan | Web Japan
At elementary schools, kindergartens, and preschools all across Japan, kids are losing themselves making hikaru dorodango, or balls of mud that shine. Behind this boom is Professor Fumio Kayo of the Kyoto University of Education. Kayo is a psychologist who researches children's play, and he first came across these glistening dorodango at a nursery school in Kyoto two years ago. He was impressed and devised a method of making dorodango that could be followed even by children. Once Kayo teaches children how to make these mud balls, they become absorbed in forming a sphere, and they put all their energy into polishing the ball until it sparkles. The dorodango soon becomes the child's greatest treasure. Kayo sees in this phenomenon the essence of children's play, and he has written academic papers on the subject. The mud balls could also offer fresh insights into how play aids children's growth.

Wow dog grooming in Japan is CRAZY.

My Girlfriend and i were walking through the Roppongi Gallery we came to the exit to the park. The last store is a pet grooming store. No joke there were no less than 12 people lining up to get their poodles and sausage dogs brushed, washed, massaged, and cut into puffy balls of fluff. All the while their owners would look around the store trying to find the newest dog collar, heated mat or automatic feeder. Unfortunately they would not let us take a photo, but believe me it was very interesting. Some may find it had to understand why they would spend so much time and money on their dogs and cat??? but when you have a cute pet like the Akita Puppy to the left that you paid over 120,000 yen for its understandable. If you need a dog groomer try this award winner.

Ok .... so basically  if you like anime then you will love Manga ... and Manga entertainment channel provides hundreds of free manga videos in English. I love this place because i was able to find my all time favourite show from when i was a kid... ROBOTECH....

This battle robot plane kicks the S**T out of transformers ... and the ROBOTECH movie being produced by Tobey Maguire is sure to blow transformers out of the water. This is just hearsay at the moment but i do hope for the reality (GEEK!) Robotech Movie with Toby Maguire..
